Alpha Tools

Most ESG and impact tools on the market were built for institutions in Europe or the US and not for the realities of emerging markets. For African organisations, these tools are often overpriced, overly complicated, and misaligned with what’s needed on the ground.

Alpha Tools were developed in direct response to that gap. Designed with our clients and partners in mind, they are practical, affordable, and grounded in local operating contexts—supporting smarter decisions and more meaningful impact where it matters most.

Impact and ESG Dashboard

Designed specifically for emerging markets, this dashboard offers everything needed to meet LP and stakeholder requirements—without the unnecessary complexity or high costs of global platforms. It enables direct data collection, visualisation, framework alignment, and even supports case study development—all in a user-friendly format.

After reviewing numerous IMM and ESG platforms built, we found that many relied on features and AI models that didn’t serve our clients’ real-world needs—and cost thousands per month. Our dashboard delivers what matters most: clear, standard-aligned reporting that’s practical, intuitive, and built for use across diverse contexts.

For clients who prefer a more hands-off approach, Nia can manage the dashboard on your behalf at minimal additional cost.

WhatsApp Surveys for Cost-Effective Reach

Traditional data collection methods—like phone calls and in-person enumerators—can be expensive, time-consuming, and difficult to scale. WhatsApp, now used by over 90% of internet users in countries like Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, and South Africa, with even higher usage among youth, offers a practical, low-data alternative for reaching communities quickly and affordably.

We use WhatsApp to support community needs assessments, project monitoring, and research—particularly in urban and peri-urban areas where mobile penetration is high. To improve completion rates, Nia helps clients develop tailored outreach strategies, including airtime draws, reminder messages, and community-based mobilisation. Our surveys currently average a 54% response rate.

In areas without reliable internet access, we pair WhatsApp with more traditional methods to ensure no one is left out of the story.

GHG and Climate Risk Model

In Development

Climate modelling is often expensive and overly complex—relying on external experts and data models built for Western contexts. This tool makes greenhouse gas estimation and climate risk analysis more accessible, offering tailored, sector-specific insights grounded in emerging market realities.

Built to support better decision-making, the model provides credible estimates to guide project planning, risk mitigation, and climate strategy—without the prohibitive costs. It enables organisations across sectors to understand their carbon footprint and exposure to climate risks, using data and assumptions relevant to where they actually operate.
